First Response to Dental Injury

Abstract

It is paramount for all dentists to have some understating on how to diagnose and treat the most common dental injuries, especially the emergency phase of the treatment.  This is because for many injuries the time from injury to treatment can differentiate between saving a tooth or losing it to later complications.   In this lecture will review the diagnostic procedures needed in case of oral and dental trauma.  Necessary radiographic, facio-skeletal and oral evaluations will be explored and discussed with support of actual cases. The second part of the lecture will focus on new treatment modalities of the most common injures, with emphasis on the best initial or emergency response.
